Getting off the couch (and the computer)!

Day 1

I was looking through my photos the other day and came across this one:

It was taken in my 'slimmer' days - ok, not really slimmer, but actually 15 pounds ago. Now I have never been one to be in front of a camera - I was my high school yearbook photographer - never actually appeared in the yearbook. And I have a face for radio - and..., I am on the radio!

But I actually used to be quite slim - and trim - not that physical, ate what I wanted, and then the years crept by, quietly layering my form until now! yikes!! And since I have never actually liked exercise in any form, it's been hard to push myself to the gym. I have yet to have that 'rush' everyone is talking about - the great feeling you have when you 'work out'. Not at the beginning, not during and not after. I'm just bored and sore.

But boy, I sure do enjoy the internet - decided to become more savvy with a little class that a colleague was venturing into - classroom 2.0. One assignment was to create a blog. Now I know people with blogs, and I enjoy them, but never really looked into it and certainly never considered I would even want to do it. But now that I started looking at the net in a new way - I have a newfound desire to 'share'!! So here we go. An incentive! If I have a blog, I must update it. If it involves getting out and hiking to the fabulous places in and around this paradise I live in, then, maybe... just maybe...

so my first hike will be in town. It's amazing - I didn't realize that the Sonoma State Historic Park had six locations - and you know there is amazing California history right here in my back yard. Off we go...
